While most of this weekend's focus is on Super Bowl 2024, there's another big game happening Sunday that's giving sports fans serious paws. That's right: It's the Puppy Bowl. The 2024 Puppy Bowl airs before Super Bowl LVIII, with Team Ruff and Team Fluff competing for the Lombarky Trophy.

This year, 131 puppies will be featured from 73 shelters and rescues across 36 states and territories. The size of the puppies range dramatically, from 1.7-pound Sweetpea to 70-pound Levi the Great Dane. The two teams go head to head for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Nevada tomorrow. The Puppy Bowl returns again for its 20th anniversary in 2024 with two teams of shelter and rescue dogs competing against each other to see which canine team will reign supreme and nab the “Lombarky” Trophy. The adorable competition promises to be the “puppiest” Puppy Bowl ever, with over 130 dogs taking part in the big game, including the Puppy Bowl’s first assistant referee, Whistle the rescue pup. While the Puppy Bowl is prized by many, particularly non-sports fans, as an opportunity to watch adorable, clumsy pups bounce around the field and wag their tails furiously, it also encourages animal adoption and highlights rescue efforts across the U.S. The cutest competition in sports will once again see Team Ruff and Team Fluff face off for the Wayfair "Lombarky" trophy. The Puppy Bowl, which is the longest running call-to-adoption TV event, will feature more than 100 puppies this year, including the all-time smallest pup, Sweetpea—weighing in at 1.7 lbs—and the biggest, Levi the Great Dane—weighing in at 72 lbs—as well as six special needs puppy players. It’s the 20th anniversary for the beloved Puppy Bowl XX this Super Bowl Sunday. Spectators will cheer on - and possibly even take a new furry friend home to love - at Allegiant Stadium where an all-new Puppy Bowl Hall of Fame will be commemorated this year.
